how to use it to eradicate global poverty. Here is an interesting document, can't attest to its value, but perhaps something that needs to be read - for its perspective, might be useful: The Mystery of Money Creation/Naked Banker.

Egyptian mystery schools - what exactly were they? What, if anything, from them may be useful to us now?

Well, the following items are accepted as accurate:

1 - Egypt did evolve into an advanced society earlier than many of their ancient peers

2 - The so called foundation of western knowledge - the Greeks - gives credit to Egypt as a source of their wisdom

So what did the Egyptians know? Was there something of value there or is it all modern fantasy? I guess much research is needed. Here's one interesting document: Egyptian Mystery Schools.

From the page:

"The Greek philosopher Pythagoras (c. 580– c. 500 B.C.E.) learned the secret doctrine of numbers, the heliocentric system of the universe, music, astrology, astronomy, mathematics, and geometry from the powerful Egyptian Magi. Before he established his own school of philosophy in southern Italy, Pythagoras spent 22 years in the temples of Egypt as an initiate in the ancient mysteries."

Read more here.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://positivehumans.blogspot.com/2010/01/egyptian-mystery-schools-what-exactly.html' title='Egyptian mystery schools - what exactly were they? Yes. Also the same for Jesus & Christianity; what if Jesus (believed to have lived around 2000 years ago) did not invent Christianity but is the latest messenger, the latest famous personality to learn the mysteries of that wisdom school well & practice them & teach them well? Yes, quite possibly. So, could the ancient Egyptians & even older ancestors of ours have known about Buddhism & Christianity - but under different names & with different famous teachers at the center of those wisdom schools/practices? Yes, I think so.

The modern human, being at least 100,000 years old, could have discovered the greatest positive mysteries & secrets that lay within us far earlier than 2500 or so years ago. What we call Buddhism & Christianity today could have been known, under different names, to our ancestors for tens of thousands of years, maybe even 90,000 years or more. Since, unlike modern technological inventions, the heart & soul of the human & positive ways to relate to existence & the universe could have been discovered by any humans like us - any modern humans/humans with our brain capacity & capabilities - who stopped long enough to contemplate themselves & their existence & their world & were capable enough & lucky enough to connect the dots well - as the priest or priests who invented what we now call Buddhism & Christianity did around 2000 - 2500 years or so ago.

Where might we find some clues re: this event, or events, occurring in human history? Stay tuned, the answers are coming.

Getting Things Done

Interesting, check it out.

Kickstarter project for "Date Number One" December screenings

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://positivehumans.blogspot.com/2009/11/kickstarter-project-for-date-number-one.html' title='Kickstarter project for "Date Number One" All such labels are generally temporary (potent in any one form for a couple of generations at most) & political in purpose (created & maintained by self-appointed leaders in order to draw power, support from a group of people in order to achieve certain goals - including that of general survival of the group). The maintenance of tribes in modern guises still leads to competition, & sometimes war, among the tribes, and blocks positive & useful ideas invented & in use in one part of the world from reaching individuals in another part, in another tribe, in the world.

Long term, a better option - better than maintaining perpetual conflict generated by idea of separate tribes - is to promote the uniqueness & value of each individual & also to promote the general & ultimate group that all individuals belong to - the human race.

Shifting fully from a tribal competition based planet to a post-tribal, pro-individual planet where being human is elevated above allegiances to local tribes may take a while - but the work can be done anytime, and by any individual. Above all you are an individual human being, and beneath all the political, time & place created layers of identity that you deal with everyday lies your ultimate group membership identity - that of being a part of humanity. Those two items - reflecting on how best to be an excellent individual & an excellent human - of value & use to all of humanity - & basing your actions on that perspective - should help you lead a positive life & move the planet towards a Post-Tribal & better state of being.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://positivehumans.blogspot.com/2008/12/post-tribal-thinking-action.html' title='Post-Tribal Thinking & The organizers of these events were the musicians & fans themselves - under the name Positive Force DC. PFDC is an exciting marriage between rhetoric & action. Mark Andersen, a DC based punk & author (Dance of Days, All The Power) has been one of the key members of the group for several years. Ian MacKaye's bands: Fugazi, The Evens, have participated often in PFDC benefit concerts.

Here's the link to the PFDC site.

Here's a bit from the groups description from the front page:

" Revolution starts now with you...

Positive Force DC is a Washington DC-area activist group that works for fundamental social change and youth empowerment. We organize benefit and free concerts, demonstrations and teach-ins and also do direct work with needy people.

We believe in the power of young people to change the world and in the right of all to live as they wish, provided that they are not preventing others from being able to do so..."

Check out the rest of it here.

Go Positive Force DC!
